What makes POGS headphones unique?

Great question, click here to find out all about POGS unique features.

Can my child safely use POGS headphones without risk of hearing loss?

Yes! POGS headphones limit the volume to 85dB, per the World Health Organization’s recommendations. We strongly recommend limiting the use of headphones to a maximum of 2 hours per day. To protect your kids’ hearing, while using POGS and in life, please lower the volume, reduce listening time, and move away from loud noises.

Are POGS headphones made out of safe materials?

Yes, we are stricter than any laws to ensure only non-toxic materials are used in POGS headphones.

Why aren't the cables included with The Turtle?

The reason to exclude the cables is to reduce impact on the environment.

Who doesn’t have a drawer with unused cables? To prevent more perfectly good cables going to waste, we have excluded them from the headphones. Separating the cables from the headphones also reduces the sales price of the headphones.

How does Noise Cancelling work on The Turtle?

To understand noise cancelling, we need to distinguish between lower and higher frequency sounds. Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) reduces lower frequency sounds, like the bass in a song, air conditioner or car. Passive Noise Cancelling (PNC) reduces higher frequency sounds, like birds, sirens, or high pitched shouting. While the combination reduces the ambient noise from the surroundings, it will never be completely drowned out, which is also considered undesirable from a safety perspective.

ANC reduces the lower frequency sounds up to mid-range (80-800 Hz). The ANC function on The Turtle reduces lower frequency sounds by -18 dB. Actively hearing the difference between the ANC function being on and off can be difficult, especially as it is less effective to higher frequency sounds. For a good real-life test to actively hear the impact of ANC, wear the headphones in the car when not driving yourself and with the car radio off. Turn the ANC on and off and you will hear a clear difference with ANC reducing the lower frequency sounds.

PNC reduces the higher frequencies and is delivered by the over-ear ear cushions. These are made with memory foam to seal comfortably around the ears. The Passive Noise Cancelling of The Turtle is measured at 82%.

Combining Active and Passive Noise Cancelling, The Turtle allows for a more relaxed and focused hearing experience by tackling both lower and higher frequencies of ambient noise.

Why don't you have a hardshell travel case for your headphones?

We were not able to find a sustainable source of recycled material that we felt comfortable with when considering the impact on the environment. And that's important to us as we consider our impact with every choice we make. Our quest for sustainable materials led us to develop The Wallaby, which is made of 100% recycled material, with organic cotton padding to protect your POGS.

What happens if my POGS headphones do not work?

We have gone to great lengths to ensure POGS are of the highest quality. In the odd case your POGS do not work as you would expect, please run through the steps of the Quick Start Guide first. You can also find them here on our website! If you still have trouble using your POGS, please contact us so we can help resolve the problem quickly for you.

Do POGS headphones require batteries to work?

No. POGS 'The Elephant', the wired model, does not require batteries at all. The wireless model, POGS 'The Gecko', has an internal non-removable battery that can be charged via USB. Don’t worry though, if you forgot to charge the battery, the wireless model can also be used by using the QuickSafe cable, which is included in all POGS headphones boxes.

How do I connect my wireless POGS Gecko to my phone, tablet or laptop?

Make sure your Bluetooth® is switched on for your phone, tablet or laptop. Press the pairing mode button (the one between the cable jack and the LED light) on your POGS headphones for 5 seconds and ‘My POGS headphones’ will appear on your device. You are now connected.

Can you pair two headphones to one single device?

Yes. You can connect multiple POGS headphones to one single device using the POGLink cable. With the wireless headphones, connect the first headphone wirelessly to the device (like a phone, laptop or tablet) and then use the POGLink cable (with the triangular plug) to connect the second headphones to the first headphones. For the wired POGS headphones, use the QuickSafe cable (with the round plug) to connect the first headphones to the device, then use POGLink to hook up the second headphones to the first one.

I only hear sound in one speaker, but the other does not seem to work. What should I do?

Most likely the cable is not connected properly.

POGS come with two gold coloured cables. One with triangular plugs for connecting multiple POGS together. Use the other cable with the round plugs which is meant for connecting your POGS with your device of choice.

Take the cable with the round plugs, and connect it with the straight round plug (with the black mic button closest) into the round hole in the headphones. Insert the angled round connector into your phone, tablet or laptop. Please ensure that the cable is plugged in firmly, sometimes it needs a bit of a push to go in fully. This should solve the issue.

Why won't my POGS wireless headphones switch off?

If you have your POGS connected via Bluetooth® to a device for an extended period without using the headphones, it is possible that the headphones will not respond. The light stays on when you try to turn them off. Here's what to do. Reset your POGS by connecting them with the charging cable to a USB plug. When plugged in, you can turn off the POGS again. To prevent this from happening, please turn off the headphones after use. If you are still having trouble, please do a factory reset of your POGS. Press and hold the pairing button for 10 seconds (the pairing button is the one with the Bluetooth® logo on it). The LED light next to this button will flash 3 times to confirm the reset is complete. After you have reset your POGS, the pairing history will be lost, and you will need to pair your POGS with your device again.

How long can I use the Bluetooth® headphones?

You can use your wireless headphones for 12 hours after a full charge (only takes 2 hours). But don’t worry, the Bluetooth® models also come with cables so you can keep on using it even when your battery is empty. If you want wireless action quickly after your battery runs empty, just charge for 10 minutes for 1 hour of use.

What is the range of the wireless Bluetooth® headphones?

With 'The Gecko', the wireless Bluetooth® model, you can move freely around your device in a range of approximately 40 meters. Please note that range can be impacted by obstacles in between your device and the headphones, like walls.

What if I want to connect more than 2 POGS headphones?

You can do so with a bit more creativity. After you have hooked up the second headphones using the POGLink cable (triangular plug), connect the third headphones with the QuickSafe cable (round plug). For the fourth one, once again use a POGLink cable (triangular plug), and so on. To remember easily, make sure the round plugs go into the round holes and the triangular plugs go into the triangular holes. Make sure you press the plugs firmly into the jacks, and enjoy together!

I lost my cables or they were damaged. Can I get new ones?

Our cables can easily be replaced as they are all detachable. You can order new cables on our website in Accessories. Click here so you can continue to use your POGS headphones for a long time.

For the wired headphone, does the cable unplug from the headset?

Yes, all POGS cables are anti-tangle fabric cables and they unplug from the headset. By removing them for storage, the cables will last longer. It is also important for the cables to release quickly if they get caught on something, for the safety of your child as well as your devices, which is what all POGS cables, like the QuickSafe cable, are designed to do.

Do POGS wireless headphones have cables included in the box?

Yes, all POGS kids headphones (wired and wireless) come with both the QuickSafe and POGLink cables included in the box.

Are these headphones suitable for young kids as well?

POGS headphones are designed for kids from the age of 3 years and older. We do not recommend using headphones at all for kids younger than the age of 3 years.

POGS states that it is designed to care for our plant, but what does that mean?

Did you know that POGS invests 10% of our profits to companies that plant more trees? Or that our products are vegan? And, we don't have any single-use plastics in our packaging! We are constantly trying to find new ways to reduce our negative impact, while giving back to our beloved planet.

Read more about the Impact we are striving to achieve, and what we're doing to get there on Our impact page.

Why do my POGS headphones have a different logo than what I see on the website?

Great observation! POGS headphones changed the logo to better incorporate our love and respect for nature. Instead of switching over all products completely, we used a “soft launch” to reduce unnecessary and excess waste. This means that as we sell out of our original logo, we can transition to selling the new logo. So, some might receive headphones with the original logo, while others might receive the newer one! Both are the same, great quality POGS headphones - just with different logos.
